About Us

Welcome to Quarterback K9 Training!

My name is Lara Cassidy and I look forward to meeting you and your dog! I founded Quarterback K9 with two goals in mind:

1. To help dog owners live in harmony with the dogs they love.

2. To help dogs in shelters and foster homes become more adoptable.

I have lived with dogs all my life, but it wasn't until I adopted my dog Callie that I ever invested or was even interested in training my dogs. Callie was extremely skittish and nervous. She would flatten to the ground and shake when walking past anything unfamiliar, including real estate signs! And forget about coming back to me when called... I was baffled and didn't know how to help her. 

On the advice of my veterinarian, I hired a trainer to help me with Callie. Through working with him to train Callie, and subsequently fostering and working with numerous foster dogs with a variety of behavioral issues over the last several years, I have realized my passion for training dogs. And Callie? Well, she's now a confident, happy and well balanced dog... nothing like she used to be!

Whether your dog is hyper and pulls like a freight train on the leash, is reactive, is anxious in the crate or has other behavioral issues, I would love to help you. 

I have been fortunate to learn from many great trainers. I am a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP) and enjoy continuing my professional education. 

When not working with dogs, you can usually find me riding my horse or hanging out with my husband and all of our pets!
